For twenty years, the newspaper company Dnevnik has been awarding awards to companies that grow and develop above average speed, create new jobs and are sustainable. Companies do not apply for the selection on their own, but the company is placed on the list of the fastest growing on the proposal of a member of the Gazela Council. The aim is to reward companies that are growth-oriented in the long term and that do not involve one-off growth.
The selection of Gazela in the Slovenian entrepreneurial space is considered one of the most professionally based choices. Also, an analysis of companies nominated and awarded in the past shows that the vast majority still operate successfully. Slovenian companies consider this Gazela recognition to be a great honour.
Damatech d.o.o. was first nominated in the award for the best fast-growing company in Gorenjska in 2016. A year later, Damatech d.o.o. was again nominated in this selection. Darko Mikec, CEO of Damatech d.o.o. said the following about the nominations: "Given the prestigious reputation that Gazela enjoys and the success of companies that earn nominations, both nominations were a great honour and recognition for us. It always provides motivation to an entrepreneur when the effort to do the work he does is recognized and this also gives him a lot of enthusiasm for the future." Procurator Mateja Mikec agrees with what has been said, adding: "It is indeed a great acknowledgment to be nominated in the Gazela selection, so we were very happy about both nominations. In any case, it is also a great honour for us to receive additional recognition from the newspaper company Dnevnik, which was given to us on the 20th anniversary of the Gazela selection."
